Founder P. Ramasamy Nadar started Ramasamy Vaithiyasalai in V.K Puram for treating Polio patients and serving the physically challenged.
About Us
Myopathy Kappagam, an Institute for Muscular dystrophy was established in 2005. It is a non-profit organization registered under the Tamilnadu Trust Act. Located at veeravanallur, a small hamlet in Tirunelveli district of Tamilnadu. Myopathy kappagam was established to provide medical support to the persons affected with muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy other Locomotor Disabilities.

Myopathy kappagam also extends support to the empowerment of Physical, Mental, Social, Economic and Educational status of the people affected with Muscular dystrophy, Cerebral palsy and other Locomotor Disabilities.
Myopathy kappagam was an inspiration to many people affected with muscular dystrophy,cerebral palsy and other Locomotor Disabilities and works for the betterment of their future through innovative ways.
Our History
1999
On September 9th, Myopathy Kappagam was started by Mr. R. Jeyaraj and later led by Mr. J. Ramasamy, extending services to people with Polio, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Cord Injuries, and Spastic conditions.
2013
On August 14th, a new branch named JR Rehabilitation Center was started in Tharuvai to provide rehabilitation services for stroke patients.
2015
On January 30th, Myopathy Multicare Centre was launched in Manoor for treating spinal cord injuries, head injuries, disc problems, and joint pain.
Facilites Provided
Myopathy kappagam is located in a serene environment and nearer to the scenic and picturesque western ghats of Tirunelveli district. Myopathy kappagam provides wide range of services related to motor and walking disabilities.

35 Rooms were available for inpatients with enclosed toilet facility and 11 General ward rooms
